The guest scholars give lectures on the blessing of Ramadan

The scholars, guests of UAE President for the month of Ramadan, have begun to carry out the programme as outlined by Awqaf by delivering lectures on the traits of the holy month of Ramadan. This time, they shed light on the hadith by which the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, addressed the early Muslims saying: “There has come to you Ramadan, a blessed month, wherein Allah showers His mercy upon you, erases sins and answers invocation. He the Almighty looks at your endeavours, and He is talking proudly of you to the angels, so act in righteousness for Allah’s sake.”

The scholars have encouraged the public to take advantage of this month and perform deeds of righteousness by spending their wealth on the needy, uphold ties of kith and kin, and render helping hand to the poor, widow and the orphan. They also stressed the significance of further going to mosques, reciting the Quran and observing prayers in Ramadan for being the month of reading the Quran and pondering over its meanings.

On a related note, Mohamed Bel-Ajir al-Rumaithi hosted His Eminence Dr Farij Mohamed, who delivered a lecture on ‘Ghafa of Tolerance’ explaining the linguistic and theological aspects of tolerance that a Muslim and non-Muslim ought to abide by. In another lecture given by Dr Hisham Sayed Atiyah at Mohamed bin Khalaf majlis in Abu Dhabi on ‘Tolerance: Identity of a Nation’, Dr Atiyah lauded the Emirati model in cementing the values of tolerance amongst nearly 200 nationalities living in the country in peace and co-existence.

Earlier, the guest scholars had visited the official Fatwa Centre and learnt of the Fatwa issuance mechanism by harnessing the state-of-the-art technology for archiving and communication.

They had also paid a visit to Louvre Abu Dhabi Museum learning of the human heritage and artworks of ancient civilisations and peoples, hailing the urban development witnessing all across the country grounded on tolerance, communication and co-existence. It is worth mentioning that scholars have so far given a plethora of lectures in dozens of mosques in Abu Dhabi and its outskirts.
