His Excellency Mohammed Saeed Al Neyadi, Director General of the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments, recently received His Eminence Salah Mezhiev, Mufti of Chechnya and his accompanying delegation, who were on an official visit to the UAE.
The aim is to promote the religious affairs, establish relations of friendship and cooperation in areas of Islamic discourse, Fiqh (jurisprudence), Fatwa and foster common values.
HE Awqaf Director General welcomed the Mufti and lauded the deep-rooted brotherly relations between the two friendly leaderships and peoples. He also praised such visits that help strengthen the coordination and exchange of expertise between the two institutions in UAE and Chechnya.
The Awqaf Director General accompanied the Supreme Mufti of Chechnya to the UAE official Fatwa Centre, which is overseen by Awqaf. There, the Mufti was briefed on the collective Fatwa issuing mechanism, which is characterised by precision, leniency and academic credibility.
Later, the visiting Mufti listened to a detailed explanation about the Centre as well its strategy and goals for being a religious reference keenly interested in throwing the spotlight on the bright image of Islam that calls for cherishing the human lofty values and cementing the principles of harmony, tolerance and co-existence among nations and civilisations, and eliminating segregation, violence and hatred.
HE Mohammed Saeed Al Neyadi emphasised the unrelenting support of the UAE wise leadership for the Islamic Affairs and Endowments, which has enabled the latter to provide the best services to society in a sophisticated and civilised manner that gains the satisfaction of society members and fulfils their aspirations.
The Mufti was also briefed on the mechanism of receiving and answering the public queries by using the state-of-the-art techniques that help the public to contact the Centre, thus benefitting from its multiple services.
His Eminence Salah Mezhiev, Mufti of Chechnya, hailed the Centre’s accomplishments as well as the outstanding and developed mechanism adopted at the Centre to disseminate the sound and authentic Fatwa and the moderate ideology to every individual in society.
He praised the sophisticated organisation and smooth workflow by harnessing the communication tools to serve the religious affairs, hoping that this experience will spread throughout the world’s countries with the aim to benefit from such innovative experience across the Muslim world.
It is noteworthy that the meeting was attended by HE Omar Habtour al-Direi, the Executive Director for the Islamic Affairs at Awqaf and Shama al-Dhaheri, Director of Fatwa Department.
