The Islamic Affairs glorifies sacrifices of the Nation’s Martyrs
Following the directives of HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE President, to commemorate the nation’s martyrs on 30th November every year, the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments celebrated the Commemoration Day in the presence of Dr Mohamed Matar Al-Kaabi, Chairman of Awqaf، and all officials and staff.
The ceremony was an opportunity to re-pledge allegiance and loyalty to the UAE wise leadership by working hard to promote the national values in the minds and souls of future generations.
The ceremony of the commemoration day was held with the participation of all staff at Awqaf in hoisting the UAE flag and observing 1-minute silent prayer for the martyrs as history will remember them and their families with pride and glory in this life and hereafter for the sacrifices they have made for the nation, people and humanity.
On this occasion, Dr Al-Kaabi said: “Today we commemorate the martyrs’ sacrifices who lost their lives in defence of this country, a homeland for happiness, decent living, humanity and tolerance.”
He also said: “We pledge the Exalted Allah and the Ruler to keep our four-coloured flag hoisted high in promoting the lofty human values, protecting our land and sacrificing our lives under the leadership and in footsteps of the Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may Allah rest his soul in peace, imploring Allah to have mercy upon the nation’s martyrs”.
For his part, HE Mohamed Saeed Al-Neyadi, Director-General of Awqaf, said: “the martyrs are the most honoured in the world, and the noblest of all people. Our martyrs have embodied the best example of sacrifice and given a role model to copy in sacrifice and giving as they have left behind a bright record of sincerity and fidelity. They have also planted in our souls and those of the coming generations the values of loyalty and belonging”.
Al-Neyadi also said that we have to go forward with steady steps toward the development and building process. The aim is to reach the peak of progress and prosperity that our prudent leadership and our people hope for.
He pointed out that we are invited to continue the march of giving in our beloved country, immortalise the martyrs’ memory, and pray to Allah to confer mercy upon them and bless their families and offspring.
