The Islamic Affairs has launched in collaboration with Zayed Higher Organisation for People of Determination the smart platform for teaching the Holy Quran. The platform aims to serve nearly 65 students from the people of determination at the Zayed Organisation and provides learning of the Quran by connecting two sides in real-time by using web conferencing technology.
On this occasion, HE Mohammed Saeed al-Neyadi, Awqaf’s Director General, directives of wise leadership to care for such segment of society always incentivises Awqaf to play a critical role in society by offering its services to all sections of society with ease and comfort via plans benefitting from audio-visual communication tools in order for Awqaf promotes the religious affairs and cements the Islamic values including the moral education.
He also said that launching the smart platform service for teaching the Quran at the Zayed Higher Organisation is in line with the Awqaf’s plans and strategies that aim to interact with this segment of society and deliver various services to them.
He further said that people of determination are an integral part of society, upon whom Allah the Almighty bestows them with unique abilities and skills.
On a related note, al-Neyadi underscored the care given by our astute leadership through enacting legislation that guarantees equality between them and their in-good-health peers, and ensures non-discrimination due to their particular needs in terms of laws, programs and political, economic and social development policies.
He also threw the spotlight on the leadership’s endeavours to provide people of determination with means and tools that help them show their skills and talents so that they can integrate into society and be effective individuals contributing to the urban development witnessing across the country.
Awqaf’s director general said that an experiment had been conducted in coordination with the Zayed Higher Organisation with several students of people of determination, and was decided later to include the remaining students and to apply the service in all of the Organisation’s centres. “Courses will be launched in the first stage at the Abu Dhabi Rehabilitation Centre,” said al-Neyadi, adding that “three virtual courses had been opened and was attended by roughly 21 mentally impaired students.”
The holy Quran memorisation courses aim to correct the pronunciation and spelling for people of determination via the spelling curriculum as laid down by the religious institutes and centres department.
Al-Neyadi further said that four highly qualified tutors had been selected who will be available to instruct via this platform later on at the Al Ain Centre for Care and Rehabilitation with ten visually and mentally impaired students will be attending the course.
“Two physically impaired students at the al-Qoua Centre for Care and Rehabilitation will be attending the courses, and nearly nine mentally and visually impaired students at the Waqn Centre for Care and Rehabilitation will be attending the courses, and twenty at Zayed Centre for Care and Rehabilitation, and three students at al-Marfaa Centre for Care and Rehabilitation,” explained al-Neyadi.
“The past experiments have affirmed the interaction of this segment of society with the smart platform for teaching the Quran,” said al-Neyadi, ensuring that Awqaf will continue to care for people of determination as this stems from its mission and as part of its role in promoting the religious and cultural awareness in society.”
For his part, HE Abdullah Abdul-Alli al-Humaidan, Secretary-General of the Zayed Higher Organisation for People of Determination, welcomed the collaboration with the Islamic Affairs, lauding the crucial role Awqaf plays to help people learn their religion correctly on the basis of moderation and in the way of spreading the tolerant principles of Islam and promoting religious awareness amongst society members. He also praised the unrelenting support and care Awqaf gives to the Zayed Higher Organisation.
He said that the Zayed Higher Organisation is one of the institutes assigned to implement the government’s policies and programs to rehabilitate, care and teach the people of determination to accomplish the government’s goal in terms of the general policy agenda of Abu Dhabi government 2030 and take advantage of the unwavering support and care provided by the UAE wise leadership of HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE President, HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and their continuing follow-up of the Organisations’ projects with the aim to achieve qualitative steps to invest in the advanced technology for the benefit of people of determination and their families.
HE Abdullah al-Humaidan added that this step comes on part of the Zayed Higher Organisation and Awqaf under the supervision and follow-up of HH Sheikh Khalid bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Zayed Higher Organisation with the aim to teach people of determination the holy Quran as per the rules and to reduce time and relieve the stress of heading to the Quran memorisation centres.
He affirmed that launching the platform comes as part of the Organisation’s strategy to develop the working mechanism and establish partnerships with institutions and authorities to serve this segment of society of people of determination, explaining that the Zayed Higher Organisation seeks to open up further channels of communication and cooperation with partners and institutions working in the charitable and humanitarian fields.
The Secretary-General of Zayed Higher Organisation for People of Determination extended his sincere thanks to the officials of Awqaf for their effective cooperation with the Organisation, pointing out that Awqaf is deemed as one of the distinguished authorities in the humanitarian fields, with which the Organisation signed a cooperation agreement in 2014.
“The aim is to boost the humanitarian and charitable work, to enhance the shared cooperation, and to set up plans contributing to support the people of determination, prepare, rehabilitate and integrate them into society so that they can effectively contribute to the country’s development by offering them special services and social care that fulfil their needs,” he concluded.
It is worth mention that the inauguration ceremony was attended by HE Mohammed Saeed al-Neyadi, Awqaf’s Director General, and HE Abdullah Abdul-Alli al-Humaidan, Secretary-General of the Zayed Higher Organisation for People of Determination.
