The scholars, guests of HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE President, have begun to arrive in UAE to take part in the holy month of Ramadan programs, most of whom landed on the Emirates on Saturday 4 May 2019.
At the Abu Dhabi international airport, HE Dr Mohammed Matar al-Kaabi, Awqaf Chairman, received the scholars in the presence of HE Mohammed Saeed al-Neyadi, Awqaf Director General, HE Omar Habtour al-Direi, the Executive Director of the Islamic Affairs, in addition to a massive crowd of journalists and media.
On this occasion, Dr al-Kaabi welcomed the guests in their homeland, the country of tolerance, moderation and co-existence, extending his sincerest congratulations to HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE President, HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Their Highness the Rulers of the Emirates, the Emirati people and the Muslim world, upon the arrival of the sacred month of Ramadan.
Answering the journalists’ questions about the guest scholars’ program, Dr al-Kaabi said: “the program of guest scholars in Ramadan was first initiated by the Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed, who cared for scholars and knowledge and the special status he had for them, and for the Emirati society, especially during the month of the Quran and worship.”
He also said that the guest scholars’ program holds what is constant and what is variable, adding that the program is a continuous tradition since the foundation of the nation and is still developing with the aim to address both national and international issues affecting people and communities by the guest scholars who are coming from different parts of the world.
“The program is packed with lectures and symposiums, “he said, welcoming the guest scholars will enrich our religious culture with Fiqh (jurisprudence), thought and sermons.
For their part, the guest scholars praised this gracious tradition of HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE President, and authenticity of the Emirati citizens for their love and fidelity to their Founding Fathers, who established a modern country the whole world is looking to its progress and prosperity.
“We thank you for your invitation to partake in the program and to take advantage of Ramadan across the country with its people, community and mosques,” said the guest scholars.
