The Islamic Affairs opens a new mosque in Khalifa City Abu Dhabi
The Islamic Affairs has recently opened a new mosque in Khalifa City, Abu Dhabi, called the Muza Rabi’e al-Darmaki mosque. The mosque was inaugurated by Sheikh Zayed bin Saeed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and has a capacity of approximately 280 worshippers.
The opening ceremony was attended by several high-ranking officials, including Sheikh Hamdan bin Saeed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Dr Mohamed Matar al-Kaabi, Chairman of Awqaf, and HE Mohamed Saeed al-Neyadi, Director-General of Awqaf, along with a large crowd of worshippers.
The mosque is designed with a unique blend of modern and local architecture, with a special focus on showcasing the typical elements of the area. It is equipped with all the necessary facilities for worshippers, including accommodation for the Imam and the muezzin.
Dr al-Kaabi expressed his appreciation for the UAE’s wise leadership, who have shown great interest in constructing and maintaining mosques across the Emirates. He also praised the contributions made by philanthropists towards the construction and upkeep of mosques in the country.
